This is the first RSC kit that I am going to knit, ever. Last year’s kits are all stuck in the plastic bin. I guess I got too intimidated by the beads in the first kit last year.

2 Feb 2010: Using loose long tail method, cast on for medium (66sts) using 2.75mm for the first 4 rows as directed in the pattern. Then switched to 2.5s but stupidly kept following the instructions for large so my stitch count was off. Frogged it and restarted using backward loop cast on and now off to row 6 already. The first row of the pattern is a bit fiddly so I decided to knit a plain row before starting the pattern. Made it a bit easier.

3 Feb 2010: Still loving it! Completed 2 repeats of the bobble fan pattern and working on the next 8 rows now.

8 Feb 2010: Decided to cast on for the second sock last night and work from the outside of the cake. Finished the two bobble fan repeats in the car this morning and will catch up with the first sock so that I am working from the same page of the pattern. The second sock is flying right off the needles!

2 Apr 2010: Done. Only mildly pleased with this as the sizing is really weird and although the foot fits well, the leg is just too roomy. While I enjoyed knitting this, I don’t think I will knit this pattern ever again.
