Finally restarting this.
Wrote out the first chart, going well so far. The plan is to knit more repeats to use up as much of the skein as I can without losing interest in the shawl.
23 Mar 2014: 16 repeats
25 Mar 2014 30 repeats
27 Mar 2014: 36 repeats
4 Apr 2014: 45 repeats
8 Apr 2014: 70 repeats
12 Apr 2014: 95 repeats
13 Apr 2014: I bound off the edge and didn’t break the yarn, instead continue picking up the YOs as instructed. Since I added lace repeats, I had to pick up 190 + 4 (into 7) + 190 = 387 sts in total.
15 Apr 2014: Got started on the RI lace section. Had to put markers to easily find my place in the chart, but have to keep moving them when I need to do the sk2p. Still better than counting stitches.
18 Apr: After frogging the lace three times because I dropped stitches and then missed the centre double decrease, I am back on track. WARNING: if you have the attention span of a 5-year old, do not knit this while watching Supernatural, or SHIELD or any other TV show that needs your focus and attention. That is all.
19 Apr: Completed row 11 of RI chart
20 Apr: Finished the RI chart and started the garter section. Noticed 3 dropped stitches at the end of the edging lace. Panicked for about a minute esp as we were out at dinner when I discovered it but managed to calm down enough to fix it when we got home. Could have been a major disaster!
25 Apr: Finished!!! So happy! Will update once I block it. I still have 165g left from the skein.
Thanks to my ever willing and gorgeous model, Eliza!
