Using leftover sock yarn, mostly STR but will try and use similar weight sock yarn to make a wider scarf.

• Cast on 271 st + 30 st for steek = 301 st (+1 for joining for knitting in the round) using 6mm needle.
• Switch to 4.5mm needle for the linen stitch pattern.
• When slipping slip as if to purl.
• Cast off using suspended bind off (but don’t cast off the steek).
• Cut open halfway along steek and unravel to form fringe. Knot pairs of strands together.

25 May 2012: Up to 5.5inches wide now but still not enough I think. Still have plenty of scraps left so will keep on going.

4 Jun 2012: I’m calling it in. It’s done! I’ll post pre-blocking photos shortly.

Lessons learned:
Linen stitch in the round is not evil.
No matter how long I’ve been knitting, twisted joins happen.
I conquered this project woot!
