Notes

Spinning away between reading sessions with a Great group of spinners over on the Bristlecone Group!

  • Spindle: Grizzly Mountain Druid Egg (Cocobolo and Alternate Ivory) - no Bristlecone yet! Still dreaming of one! 10.5 oz 1.1 oz

  • Fiber: Seven Spirits Farm (linky: FB Page) Mixed Batt with Merino/Polworth/Alpaca/Silks/Firestar/Angelina/Faux Cashmere

  • Preparation: I stripped the 4.9 ounce batt into 4 pieces along the grain of the batt and then tore each piece into lights and darks (i.e. the back of the batt was lighter, and the top was the colors and textured bits) and am spinning them separately to make a light lace 2 ply.

  • Sampling: I tried the above and did a small sample to knit up and see if it works :) Success! (new photo to be added)

Aug 31/13

  • Update: First “light” portion of the batt has been spun, and the “colorful” portion begun.

  • Plan: to spin up the colored portion, ply and estimate yardage. Then Drool.

  • Considering Pattern choices: something circular? and ginormous?! Depends on yardage I guess. :)

Sept 7/13
- finished light and dark portions of the first quarter… and made a plying ball :)
