Notes

Translated this pattern as best I could to English as I have been admiring all or Kerstin’s patterns. Thank you Kerstin for this free pattern.

Cast on 72 Sts on 2.25mm magic loop.

Foot - increased 2 whole pattern repeats through the sole and changed to 2.5mm needles.
36 Sts top and 48 Sts on sole.

Heel - worked short row heel on 44 of the sole Sts. Ended up with extra plain rows around, somehow lost in translation. smiley

Leg - did not decrease any of the extra stitches as my logic is that ALL of the leg has to be able to go over the heel, the widest part. Not sure about this as with other socks I decrease out mini-gussets stitches. As this was colour work I knew there was much less stretch in the fabric. Also accidentally only worked on row of dark grey pattern instead of two.

The first two pattern repeats after the heel were knitted a little tight so a bit of a tug to get them on but then they fit beautifully.

Knitting these has provided an excellent opportunity to develop my technique for holding both yarns in the left hand. Previously I have swapped from holding the yarn in each hand to one hand and also considered a yarn ring of some sort. I have now put both yarns over 4th finger with the main colour under and the second colour over the third finger. My muscle memory has now developed to allow this to be intuitive and smooth. Yay!! No more chopping and changing hands and techniques.
