The Elizabeth Cardigan CAL started Thursday, March 15, and new parts will be released weekly through part 4. The pattern looks like a lot of fun and would be a very simple first garment.

My gauge was 6 x 12 mini bean (mb) stitches per 4”. I have 54 mb stitches for 33” width.
I really like the texture of this stitch and the softness of the yarn. However, I don’t like the color for a cardigan (it is just what I had in my stash). I am thinking of making a Project Linus blanket out of this instead, using most of the rest of the With Love that was left-over from my Stardust Melodies blanket. Then I think I’ll look in my stash or purchase some yarn in a color that I am more likely to actually wear to make the sweater.
So, I have gathered four colors into a project basket. I want the blanket to be 40” x 60”. I am thinking of doing stripes in several textured stitches, separated by 2 rows of sc in Eggshell. I remembered seeing the 2018 Calendar Blanket CAL by Jayda InStitches on somebody’s YouTube podcast which is the look I’m going for, so I’ll look there for stitch patterns. At the end, I’ll add a 3.5” border.
Stripes:
Iced Aqua 10", Mini Bean/Elizabeth Stitch, 28 rows
Peacock 3" (I don't have a full skein), Little Fishes Stitch, 5 rows
Tan 8", Primrose Stitch, 6 repeats (13 rows)

I’ve finished the body of the blanket and it is blocking. I thought, perhaps I had made some mistakes going between the sections because the blanket was pulling in at the center, but it seems the primrose stitch just pulls tighter than the mini bean/Elizabeth stitch since I just counted stitches and they are correct. Hopefully blocking and adding the border will get it to hold its rectangular shape. It should be a nice size to donate to Project Linus.
I’ll add two rounds of sc around the edge in Eggshell to start with then I think I’ll consult my Edie Eckman Crochet Borders book for ideas for the border.

After the Eggshell on the border, I did the first round of border #17 from the book and realized I didn’t have enough of the Peacock to do the second round. I decided it actually looked good with just the one round since the blanket is small and it was more in proportion anyway, so it’s done and I’m quite happy with it. It will sit in the Project Linus stack for a bit until I get a few more to deliver.
