As recommended, I did the swatch for this since I knew my cowl came out a lot larger than it should have. Just for curiosity, I used a 5.5mm hook, like I did for the cowl, and the swatch was 5.5”, instead of 4”. I went down to a 4.5mm hook and it was 4.5”. So, I’m about to start for real with a 4mm hook.

I’m 3 1/2 repeats into this and I’m worried it’s going to be too small. Sigh.

The size turned out quite perfect! It is more of a beanie than a slouch, but most importantly it fits nicely around the head so it will keep her ears warm.

I used a faux fur pom-pom from a garland I bought on clearance at TJ Maxx.
