Clue 2 came out last Wednesday, the 8th and I got to it today, Saturday. It was quite straight forward and one of the strands changed to green after a few rounds so I’ve had the first subtle color change. So far very fun.

I wonder if the clues will be released every second Wednesday of the month? Time will tell.

Clue 3 was released Tuesday, March 7th and was relatively simple but this particular stitch pattern was a pain to do with this yarn. I’ve worked with Scheepjes Whirl before, which is very similar, but for some reason I find this yarn to be stiffer and the 4 untwisted plies mess me up more. Maybe I should try a different type of hook next month.

Clue 4 came out on April 11. I switched to my 4mm Tulip hook and these rounds were much easier with less splitting. All 10 rounds had the same stitch count, so I’m surprised it is still laying flat, but it is fine. Loving the ombré effect! When I have to join the next cake I will start from the outside so the colors go in reverse order.

Finished Clue 5 today and started the second cake from the outside. The edge is quite ripply now, so I hope Clue 6 will help it lay flat again.

I decided I wasn’t excited about this yarn as this project, so I’ve decided to fasten off, sew in my ends, and use this as a table topper in the craft area/sitting room in my bedroom.
