This is the pattern from the ball band of the yarn. I picked these up on clearance at Michaels as an impulse buy.

I started this with a foundation sc row but I didn’t like how it looked so I ripped it out and just did a chain like the pattern calls for (using a 6.0 mm hook just for the starting chain).
This is a really easy and fun pattern, good for mindless crochet. I’m starting this now because I have to spend 2 hours in the car tomorrow and this will be a good take-along project.

After finishing the first cake, the blanket is 18” x 42”.

I finished the second cake minus the chunk of green/teal I took out of the middle at the beginning to make the colors transition properly. Now I need to start my third cake, which begins with green, but I’ve only done half a row of the gray. There is no gray in the chunk I removed, but the next cake ends with gray, so I think I’ll do a little from the outside of that one until the gray runs out, then go back to the center to pick up the green and go from there. The third skein will then end with light teal, so I can’t just add the green/dark teal chunk at the end. Maybe I’ll use it to add fringe after all, though I had been planning on skipping that.

Note to self: This needs to end on a dc shell row (not the row where you do the ch3s), then the final row will be sc into the ch1 spaces and dc stitches of the shells.

All finished! This was a relaxing project and I would consider making another one someday. I decided against the fringe since I wanted to keep going to make it as long as possible in case I end up giving it to one of my tall nephews for Christmas.
