Oval Basket Tutorial on YouTube

I will make the medium size to use up the rest of the Essential Cotton I used for C’s coasters and basket. I’ll skip the spike stitches since my basket will be too short for much texture to show on the sides. (It’s for a place to put glasses on a bedside table at night.)

I notice in the tutorial that the designer does a yarn under (YU) then yarn over (YO) when making her single crochets. This makes her stitches have an X appearance instead of a V with the standard YO, YO. I may experiment with that with this basket to see if I like the look.
