I had a craving to do a smaller project since I’ve been working on too many blankets recently. I’m using stash, sport-weight mercerized cotton.

The Sublime Egyptian Cotton says it’s DK (3) but it’s the same weight as the other that says sport (2). The color or the Sublime is Persia.

I probably won’t have enough cotton to do a thermal stitch strap as per pattern so I think I’ll fold over some ribbon to make a carry strap instead. I want to be able to fold over the top to make a bowl shape so I don’t want a strap from side-to-side anyway.

This is quite the scrappy bag! I’m about half way up the sides and I just paused to put the plastic canvas in, which I just happened to have in my craft supply stash, because I decided it would be easier to do before the sides were done. This is a very simple but fun project. I can see making a few more.

It’s Sunday and I’ve spent all of my crochet time today finishing up this bag. I ended up deciding it’s too floppy to fold the sides down and work out of it like a basket, but still concluded it didn’t need a handle.

I filled it with more stash cotton to make another one.
