I did my square 14 blocks wide as Terri did but mine are 10.5” to her 9”. My tension is definitely quite a bit looser than hers!

I finished the third column today. This third cake was wound differently, so I’m glad the greens didn’t all fall in the middle again. I’ve decided I’m going to add a block stitch border, so I found some skeins of Brava Sport in coordinating colors that I hope will work well.

Finished!

In the end I went with just a single round of DC in the Brava for the border (well, two rounds if you include the SC/CH). I decided a more colorful border would detract from the beautiful colors of the body of the blanket. It turned out I would have had enough of the Mandala for that round but I think the solid color frames it more nicely. I did have to go down to a size 4mm for the Brava since it is most definitely a #3, DK weight yarn and not the #2, Sport weight that it claims. It is significantly plumper than the Mandala.
