I am going to do this for the Different Designer CAL (from the Crochet Circle podcast). The CAL started on 1st March and runs until 8th April. #differentdesignercal
My color choice is very un-Hannah! It is a good neutral color that should go with a lot of my more colorful tops though. Also, I do have two skeins of this in my stash and I suspect I’ll need to break into the second one given my gauge.

I started this today and went down to a 4.5 mm (from recommended 5.5 mm) to get a fabric I like. Hannah did mention she crochets very tightly and I know I crochet loosely, so no surprise there.
Note: put a stitch marker is on the increase side! The pattern says, “At the end of every even numbered row, you will be on the straight edge of the shawl”, but who wants to count? Especially when the shawl is small, it’s easy to put it down and start increasing on the wrong side when you pick it up again since the shape isn’t that evident right away (don’t ask me how I know). Plus, moving the stitch marker up every five rows or so is a good cue to count stitches to make sure you’re on track.

I just passed the Middle Panel section. This pattern is nice and easy.
Row 71 has a small error? First leg of the last dc2tog is in a dc (not the sp).

Finished!
This isn’t the best yarn choice for this pretty shawl. Like I said, I like the dark grey and it will go with a lot of things, but it’s 100% wool and “rustic” (as they say, which is code for scratchy). It may not be the best thing for around the neck, but I’ll just have to drape it loosely.
Kudos to Hannah on her first pattern! It was very professional and easy to follow. This would be a great choice if you’re new to making shawls.

The shawl is drying on the blocking mats now. It turned out much wider than Hannah’s (89” vs. 65”) though not that much different in height. Go figure.
