A jacket of my own design, based on the Hanten jacket in the book Make Your Own Japanese Clothes. I plan to weave the back in two pieces and the sleeves in one warping, the two fronts in a second warping, and the trim in a third warping.

Whew, eight months in the making! The jacket has a pleat and sewn-on “belt” in the back, Norfolk-inspired, black edging on the front and sleeves, and a satin lining. The satin was salvaged from a retired bathrobe. The yarns were all stash yarn. Sewing thread already in my sewing box. All in all, a jacket made without having to buy anything I didn’t already have.
