Yet another “blue” project. I love playing with color (blue being my current fave). I used both Cascade Ultra Pima and 4Ply Fyberspates to create this tunic dress.

I changed up the pattern a bit. I experimented making the dress/tunic with old yarn, knitting it up as directions called for. But I didn’t like how the neckline and sleeves came out. I knit the dress in 4 pieces (front, back, and 2 sleeves). I bordered each piece (the sides) with a knit salvage stitch and a purl stitch before I began the open pattern work. Because I am 5’4” I shortened the dress to be worn as a long tunic over a tank and leggings. Although, the day I wore this piece a sales woman at Nordstroms called to me: “I love your dress.”

4 June 2013 - working on another version of this design - in RED. Again, I am using two strands of slightly different colors of red, holding them together. Will post when finished.
