Notes

This pattern is easy. I adjusted the lace border because I just couldn’t get the hang of the pattern directions. The directions call for a type of knitting unfamiliar to me. I worked like heck to get a handle on the style, worked with the designer, who was extremely helpful; but, my blockhead proved impenetrable. I finished the border using Evelyn Clark’s Swallowtail lace border (there are two sections). I’m happy with the results.

I used two different lace weight yarns on this project:

Cascade Kid Seta mohair (pinkish purple or fuschia) and Grignasco Merinosilk 25 (gray). The first photo shows off the actual color the best.

Made a version of this lace poncho for a friend’s daughter. I used smaller needles to accommodate a ten-year old’s dimensions.

“What a beautiful gossamer,” my husband said when he saw it.

I love this pattern so much that I am in the process of making two more, one for a friend’s daughter, the other for ME:)
