I tested several different yarn options – going so far as to knit almost an entire cat in one – before finally opting to manually put in stripes, using color-working and a (different) variegated yarn that had big blocks of light and dark gray throughout.

Why so picky? Well, I was trying to make it look as much as possible like my boyfriend’s cat, Apollo.
