Do you know how difficult it is to take a picture of both of your own hands? I wanted my roommate to help me take these photos, but she went to bed early. I resorted to using a combination of Photo Booth on my laptop and the timer setting on my iPad (while cradling the iPad very awkwardly with my arms/chin). So, better pictures later.

Previously referred to as “convertible mittens,” I’ve now adopted the term “hand hoodies” (credit goes to my friend Manar for coming up with the new name). They’re those fingerless gloves that have the mitten flap over them so that you can use your fingers but you also have the option of protecting them when it gets too cold. Well, I’ve added another feature…
Pretty much everyone uses touch screens with their thumbs, rather than their fingers. What good are fingerless gloves then, if the thumb is still covered, like a mitten? And leaving the thumb exposed would look sort of silly and result in very cold thumbs. So, why not add another flap for the thumb as well?
After a bit of trial-and-error, I settled on a cute, functional design. I’m pretty happy with them, and I’m looking forward to showing them off in the cold weather.
