When I was born, my dad went bought me a small, gray rabbit wearing a red shirt with a yellow collar, cuffs, and buttons. Some kids have “blankies” or teddy bears; I had this guy (the one on the left in the top picture). Somewhere along the line, he was christened Mr. Bunny. Mr. Bunny has been through a lot over the years, and he has lots of patches and worn spots to prove it. He’s been with me through good days and bad, in sickness (countless ear infections, for example) and in health. He’s travelled with me to multiple states, Canada, England, and, more recently, college.

This July, a few weeks after my birthday, my dad turned 60. To mark this milestone (and because of my recent mastery of my very own knitted bunny design) I decided to make him a special gift. I knew he’d find it rather familiar-looking…

So, introducing Mr. Bunny’s long-lost brother… Mr. Bunny.
