“Woman? Is that meant to insult me? I would return the slap if I took you for a man.” - Daenerys Targaryen, Game of Thrones

Since watching Game of Thrones Daenerys has been my favourite character. She is so strong willed, and will take no shit from anyone. I recently started the books, and I like how quick witted she is and how she’s even stronger sooner in the books then in the show.
In the upcoming year, I’m planning on doing Daenerys in her Khaleesi outfit for Calgary Expo 2018. If you’re familiar with the outfit, you know that there isn’t a whole lot going on top to keep you warm, and since Canada is basically the North, you know how cold it can get anytime of the year. So, since she is the Mother of Dragons, I thought it would be appropriate to do this cowl, in hopes to keep me warm, and so that way it’ll fit with the theme.

As always, if I do make modifications, I will list them below.

Modifications

There were a certain number of modifications and tips I learned throughout this project:

  • To do the optional short rows, I used this pattern (doing a German Short Row). Honestly it was just easier to use

  • While chaining, have two people. One to do said chaining, and another to hold the piece and pull it to reveal the dropped stitches you need. I don’t know how the person who created this pattern did it without the help of others.
