EU CM TO USA INCH MEASUREMENTS HAVE ERRORS IN CONVERSION. USE CM MEASUREMENTS. USE EU 3MM USA 2.5 NEEDLE
Starting on my knitting belt straights so only have whole and half mm needles in metric to choose from. 3mm seems smarter than 3.5mm

Was going to work this flat on my knitting belt. Hit the colorowork. Okay okay I can purl and catch floats on the back it’s not pure murder -- dropping and edge stitch on row 4 for the color work though?
Nope. Frog and recast onto circulars.
THIS AUTHOR HAS MIS-CONVERTED CM TO INCHES. DO NOT TRUST THE CONVERSIONS.
ALSO KNITTING ON 2.5 (3 MM) NEEDLES AS MOST EU KNIT PACKS DON’T COME WITH 3.25 MM NEEDLES.
So I am not convinced no 3 means US 3… may mean 3mm. The tension on US 2.5 was fine and size seemed good. Also if you knit socks on size 3 it’s super loose. Rather work on 2.5 US

I don’t own 9 inch curves so have to knit this flat. I have done colorwork on DPN and it’s always a little painful. This is just big enough I would need 5 sock DPN.
You could work this in the round if you do Magic Loop on 5 inch tips. Could not get traveling loop to go on 5 inch tips.
Really only recommend work flat or 9 inch circs with the super short tips.

Placed life line on the last line (line 3 ) of white color, before starting first line of colorwork.
Colorwork begins on knit side. Knitting flat has benefit of avoiding any ladders from DPN or magic loop in the band.

Note to self- you silly goose, your ribbing starts with a single stitches before going into 2x2 because reasons. So make sure you duplicate that on the other side.

So far so good. My Continental purl is going to be epic by the end of this.

Measuring 10 cm in the color work, from the center of the yo lace. 5 cm on the first completed border. Shooting for 5cm on the last border. I only worked 1 extra line of white than I did on the first border because I don’t have any extra length in the colorwork to eat up.

Added 1 stitch to first line of color ribbing so we have 150 stitches again. Would have added to line after the yo lace had I recalled it earlier. Also started with 1 line plain knit so that there are no ugly white bars across the first line of the ribbing on the External side. Yes it’s the ear part. Still want it to be nice.

Bound off in pattern. Basic bind off. Going to wet block and then seam. A flat, blocked work is much easier to seam.

Seaming with crochet slip stitch every other line of the ribbing.

Dang it. The main seam is far too bulky. It doesn’t feel good to wear and looks derpy. Redoing. Somehow.

Finally re-seamed this using a back slip stitch. Sewn. Not thrilled because it’s a we bit visible but in use is better than in my yarn basket!
