Completely fell in love with this project after seeing it here so I finally ordered the Gumdrop yarn. Using slightly different colors because the Orange Gumdrop is temporarily out of stock everywhere and the scalpers are having a field day.

Of course Amazon sent Smoothie separately and it’s 2 days behind the rest! Nooo….

Ran several lines while watching Geek n Sundry crew play Paranoia. Wow memories from childhood and my brother’s RPG books.

Weighed green yarn and it’s at 55G so it’s doing okay on usage. I’m debating how big I want to make this. It’s a pretty sizable lap blanket / child’s gift at the moment. May be time to toss on a White row and start decreasing.

Started into decreases. Want to wrap this and the Selbu 3 soon and focus on squares and snowflake. Slip stitch across in previous row color due to striping.

Started with a 3 square config of white, 46 rows wide, ending on a white row prior to decreasing. Starting row 7 of decreases.

Ohhh… just found out chain 3 rope borders are a thing. That could be fantastic.

I did. Here is my version:

1. with color A, sc, chain 5, skip 2 sc in previous row, sc, chain 5, skip 2 sc in prev row, sc…..continue around. end color A.

2. with color B, sc in stitch to left of first sc made with color A, chain 5, drop loop off hook, put hook through (under) ch5 loop of color A, catch free loop of color B, insert hook in stitch to left of second sc made with color A, sc (this stitch is made over color A), chain 5, drop loop off hook….repeat.

3. same thing, sc in st to left of first sc made with color B, chain 5, drop loop off hook, insert hook under chain 5 loops of A and B… “

Row 28 of decreases. When striping make your 3slips across last stitch with old color. Switch to new for slip to join and 3 chain up.

I got the C2C portion done, but I’m now hesitant on the border I want. I think I’m going to do mostly as written, with ColorA, White, ColorB, White, ColorC pattern?

First round of border complete. Going to do round 2 and then further weave in ends. I crocheted over and worked in all but due to the 3 side types, the posted HDC ends only got worked in via a single stitch.

2+ hours later all ends except border are skimmed / woven. Slick yarn demands skimming to ensure it stays put.
