Started this on holiday in rural France. The tension seems to have to be very loose and I’ve had to go up two hook sizes. I’ve got through the wings and the first honeycomb section and have just done the first row of bees. Not sure my stitch count is right though as the next row of instructions didn’t tie up. Will have another look in the cold light of day. Fun pattern so far and well explained. Having to concentrate as it is in US terms.

Getting on with this now. Fun to do though not sure about the loose tension with this fine yarn. The variegated pattern in the yarn also means that it is difficult to see the pattern parts. Probably not the best choice on reflection. Now on the second honeycomb section after a train journey allowed some uninterrupted crochet.

Coming up to the end of the first skein of yarn. I’m just about to do the second row of little bees.

As the shawl is getting narrower, it is getting quicker to complete the pattern. Just finished the next small honeycomb section and moving on to another set of wings.

Almost to the end of the charts. It is fun to do but I’m not convinced that this yarn is suited to this project. I think I’ll finish it but I may frog and rethink. I’ve bought a Whirl that might be better suited to the pattern.

I’ve finished this apart from adding the edging. I might wait and see how I feel about this version once I’ve used the Whirl to do another one. I’m not sure that this one will stay - the yarn could be something else.

Decided to frog and reuse the yarn of possible. I never used the scarf as the yarn, though lovely, didn’t suit the pattern.
