An 11 year old girl in Texas named Angel is collecting hats and lap blankets for patients going through chemo and dialysis. Not only is this a good cause, but what a great way to encourage a young person who is showing such compassion and initiative!

She’s asked for the blankets to be about 60”x60” (5’x5’).

• I’ll be making 16 -12” squares.
• I’ll border each square with approximately 1” of equalizing rounds, which will give me another 8” of width/length. Then, the join, and a final border should bring it up to the specifications.
• Colors are based on the Vanna’s Choice Fan Club’s past swap, Yellow and Grey Goodness. However, my yarn came from a stash dive!
• I am unashamedly copying some of the fantastic blocks made by participants in that swap. I will post links, and give credit to the original stitchers.
• Planning to have this completely finished, washed, and mailed off by April 15. We’ll see…..

I have 9 squares completed with a tenth underway. My original due date is looking like it will need to be pushed back, but onward I go!

April 16: 12/16 made
Having difficulty understanding patterns. Thankfully, my stand by’s are always lovely thanks to great designers.

April 19: 16/16 made!
Yay! Just finished the sixteenth square. I have 9 squares that have ends to weave. After that there will be equalizing rounds to bring each square up to the same stitch count, then joining, and finally a border.
