My sister is turning 50 this year. I’ve made Willow before, and after auditioning a few other squares I decided this was the one.

I changed the last round to dc. Then, I did a round of skip 2 stitches, 3dc in next stitch. Corners as: 3dc, ch2, 3dc. I had to fudge a bit as the count wasn’t perfect, but I don’t think it’s evident. The last row is dc in every stitch and every space between 3dc sets with corners as: 2dc, ch2, 2dc.

I used Cathedral Edging to edge. It gave an echo of the willow pattern.
