Notes

A testknit for dear Yuri(Handknitlife)! That has been a long time ago. I could not resist to apply for a testknit when I saw her beautiful pullover with the twisted stitches and the smock stitches.
Using the Mondim yarn I bought at Wolatelier Tilburg, hoping it will have enough drape. I like the woolen look of it.

It is going slowly because of the smock pattern, but it gives a beautiful result. The sweater is a joy to knit!

In the beginning it looks like it is far too wide, but that is before starting the smock pattern. Once the pattern is started it gets a lot less wide.

It helped a lot to put stich markers between the different charts.

Needles
Body on 3,5 mm (neck and hem 3 mm)
Sleeves on 3,75 mm (cuff on 3,25 mm)

Mods in length
I have to lengthen the sleeves with about 10 cm. I knitted untill halfway (21 cm), knitted the lateral braid and then continued with the cuff (another 21 cm). So the extra length got divided so both parts are the same length.

yarn
I am happy with the yarn choice I made. It is a bit woolly and I like that a lot in combination with the smock pattern. The four balls I have should just be enough for size 3.
Since I have to lengthen the sleeves quite a bit I decided to order another ball of yarn at Rosa Pomar in Portugal to be sure I have enough yarn. It is a different dye lot but I do not see a difference. I will use it for the ribbing at the sleeves and the body after the lateral braids. No worries anymore to run out of yarn! smiley

Finished measurements
Before blocking the sweater was a lot less wide. So not to worry the sweater is too small. Blocking makes all the difference!
A-122 cm
B-24 cm
C-22 cm
D-38 cm
E-34 cm
F-40 cm (I made the sleeves a lot longer)
G-21 cm
H-61 cm
In the end the width of my sweater (A in the schematic) is more between size 2 and 3 but for me this is enough positive ease.
