Notes

What a beautiful design!

I bought the yarn at the Handwerkbeurs in Houten together with Myriam. We will do a mini KAL slightly_smiling_face

I bought two contrast colors. I like the dark one the most, it is a bit less contrast then the light pink. I like the low contrast a lot.

Yarn is from Asta and her brother who together are Apmezga. Asta dyes the most beautiful yarn. Monoceros is a non superwash yarn, it is very pleasant to knit with.

It turns out I need a LOT more yarn then given in the pattern. 1200 meters of the main color turns out to be not enough for size 4. I ordered a 5th skein of the main color at Apmezga (thankfully she still had the yarn).

It is an addictive knit!

Neck finishing
The pattern says to do a crochet finishing but I wanted to do an Applied I cord edge
Ok, it is too ‘fat’ in the contrast color. Perhaps a crochet finishing is better? Or do a small ribbing? An icord in the main color it is.

Sleeves
Finished the first sleeve. I love the corrugated ribbing!
The sleeve turns out to be a bit wide at the upperarm when compared to the underarm which is a bit tight. Will need to decide if I want to make the underarm wider (less decreases) or the upperarm more tight (start decreases sooner).

Ok, so the sleeve wasn’t looking well. It looked like there was a ‘sack’ hanging at the upperarm. Far too much underarm stitches. So I ripped the sleeve and started again: only 8 underarm stitches (instead of the given 18 st) and starting to decrease immediately. It is looking a lot better now!

Update 20/2/24
After blocking it felt the sweater was too long. So I ripped the hem and undid about 5 cm. Much better now!
