It’s been a while but I got the urge to weave again so out comes the thrift store RH.

After choosi the colors I started making a draft at plaidmaker.com. I decided to alternate stripes with big sections of white. In part because I only had 1 skein each of the colors. But as I was going along I wasn’t too thrilled with it so I kept adjusting the draft and have now finalized it. The second color section is twice the first, and the third will be twice that, then the whole thing is mirrored. This should work out to just about the right length, it’s three picks longer then the first plaid weave scarf.

I did rediscover my frustrations with this loom, mostly with the wing nuts that I have to undo and tighten every time I want to move the warp along, which is quite often given the small sweet spot of this loom. So I decided to mail the weaving store that carries Ashford looms to try out the knitters loom. I was sold. Next week it will be mine. But I’m not quitting on my little loom with the warp still on, I will finish this scarf before my new loom gets here.
