I have drafted the chart so all I need is to get two other projects out of the way, and I can start!

This will be a snug earflap hat for my oldest “Tassie” Granddaughter, Erika, knit in yarn spun from delicious Moonrover Yarns batts from my swap parcel plus some of my NZ Halfbred handspun in natural black.

One thing I should mention: I got all the way to the top of the pattern and realised that the hat was way too long. Went to bed in a grump, got up the next morning and pulled out the row two below the beginning of the pattern, ripped it back and grafted it to the flaps/band again. As you can see, it worked out really well. And I used the wool I had undone to make the tassels.

So happy with finished hat! It is light and dreamy soft.
