These were originally intended to be knit at rehearsals and performances for H.M.S. Pinafore, in honor of the role I was playing. However, I turned out not to have time enough during the actual run to work on them, so instead they were finished in time for the reunion pizza party about two months later.

The yarn was specially dyed for me by Ray at Knitivity, and it’s just what I wanted.

I did the ribbing on 2.5mm dpns and the rest of the socks on 2.0mm. I knit the leg chart 3.5 times as called for, but only four repeats of the foot chart.

There are errors in the pattern - in the heel turning instructions, for example, but I just used common sense and the socks worked out fine.
