As I learned from the Chinook gloves, it’s best to do colorwork on a larger needle than what you do in single-color-stockinette since you naturally pull tighter when stranding. The jump from 10 to 11 may seem big, but I knit tightly and the gauge/stretchiness turned out perfect.
