Notes

Started this project while in Mexico, inspired by all the warm pinks I see all over buildings, signs, and cars!

06-19-2016

I had trouble with the directions for attaching the lower back to the edges of the front. After a lot of fiddling, I found it easier to mirror the increases on either side, as follows…
RS: slip 1st stitch wyif, kfb, knit to last two stitches, slip 1 wyif, ssk using the last stitch on the needle and one edge stitch.
WS: Same as RS.

06-22-2016

I also found that the easiest way to keep track of which edge stitch I have to pick up next is to have a moving stitch marker! It’s so helpful - the first time I tried attaching the sides, I kept joining with the same stitch sometimes (it’s hard to see with all the fringe what edge stitch has been knitted into).

  1. So start with two stitch markers in the first two edge stitches on either side of the front.
  2. Knit to the last 2 st, s1wyif, ssk with the final stitch and with the first edge stitch.
  3. Take out the stitch marker from the stitch you just knitted, and move it to the next edge stitch underneath.

Repeat the above on both edges for every row knitted!
