I wanted to knit a top or sweater to incorporate into my Halloween costume, and after seeing this image on tumblr I was struck by my need for more bouclé usage! And my September top / Halloween costume was born.

I wasn’t satisfied with any of the other Max sweater patterns on ravelry, so I’m making my own fuzzy version.

Writing my own pattern to fit me, but comparing notes on hoods of other patterns. They are all so pointy on the back, which heads are not! So I gotta find a way to have that curve around the head properly. Needless to say, I’m working bottom-up so I can solve that problem later :)

Body to underarms and one sleeve complete. I’m behind from working a lot, and knitting one forearm that was just wayyyy too big. It’s hard to tear back bouclé!

I took off the hood and re-knit it because it was way too droopy and about 4 inches too long. So I lost the ears and will add them back in tonight. But I wanted the chance to photograph in the snow while I had the chance (I’m leaving Colorado as we speak and headed back to snowless Oakland). So, ears coming back tomorrow!
