Not that there’s anything particularly special about pink & white, but there’s something about the combo with this blanket – it kind of glows! It’s really very pretty. And it lays quite nicely, too - nice & flat & straight, which tends to be an issue with me, so I’m quite happy with it.

The only problem that I had with the pattern was with the instructions for the border. With right side facing, it’s not possible to begin as instructed at the bottom right corner & work across the unused loops of the beginning chain. You’d have to be going in the wrong direction. And the instructions for the 3rd side (across the top) are written to encounter the stitches in reverse sequence (assuming that you ended after a Row 3 as instructed). So I worked the border with the wrong side facing instead, and everything worked out fine. It’s not like there was really a right side and a wrong side at that point anyway. It’s only the border that has a right and wrong side. Before the border, the whole thing was pretty much reversible.

The instructions said to work the center until it measured about 34” from the beginning, but I stopped at 29” (69 rows) so as not to run out of yarn, and also so as not to be square (the width was 34”). I obviously wasn’t working to gauge.

I began the border with 4.3 skeins of the white. The skeins are quite small, so I was a little nervous about having enough, but it worked out. I definitely would have run out though, had I worked the center to 34”. Not only that, but the finished blanket would have been too large.

I stashed the kit as a whole, so here’s how my usage broke out by color:

Pink: 59 Grams/201.78 Yards/1.18 Skeins
