These are great! I wear leggings 99% of the time around the house, so these are perfect for that extra bit of warmth when the temps drop. Plus, they’re really cute!
Plan for the Fit:
-I didn’t want them dragging on the ground, plus my calf measurement is 1 inch smaller than the pattern (13” instead of 14”), so I decided to make the bottom band 1” smaller than the pattern (10” instead of 11”), and the rest of it proportionately smaller. As I proceeded though, I found that the final width was a little snugger than I wanted. It wasn’t tight, but it wasn’t slouchy either, so I ended up doing an extra set of increases to bring the final width equal to the pattern instead of proportionately smaller.
-My floor to widest part of calf measurement is actually an inch longer than the pattern (13” instead of 12)”. I don’t think I’m taller, because I’m only 5’2”, but I guess my legs must be proportionately longer. Plus, I wanted them to sit a little higher than the model and be nice and slouchy, so I decided to make them at least 15” tall (14” before adding the final band), maybe longer. Then when I got to that point, I did continue to make them longer (17” final height), because otherwise they weren’t slouchy enough.
