Notes

These are great! I wear leggings 99% of the time around the house, so these are perfect for that extra bit of warmth when the temps drop. Plus, they’re really cute!

Plan for the Fit:
-I didn’t want them dragging on the ground, plus my calf measurement is 1 inch smaller than the pattern (13” instead of 14”), so I decided to make the bottom band 1” smaller than the pattern (10” instead of 11”), and the rest of it proportionately smaller. As I proceeded though, I found that the final width was a little snugger than I wanted. It wasn’t tight, but it wasn’t slouchy either, so I ended up doing an extra set of increases to bring the final width equal to the pattern instead of proportionately smaller.

-My floor to widest part of calf measurement is actually an inch longer than the pattern (13” instead of 12)”. I don’t think I’m taller, because I’m only 5’2”, but I guess my legs must be proportionately longer. Plus, I wanted them to sit a little higher than the model and be nice and slouchy, so I decided to make them at least 15” tall (14” before adding the final band), maybe longer. Then when I got to that point, I did continue to make them longer (17” final height), because otherwise they weren’t slouchy enough.

Particulars:
-Fsc 10 to begin (instead of ch11 & sc across).

-Lower Band (Hook H): 42 rows
-Sc Join (inside out): Ch1, turn, work row as for the rest (tbl except 1st & last st thru both loops), and thru center of the fsc stitches on the other side.

-Main Body (Hook I): Total 70 Rounds, Begin at 42 sts

Increase as follows:
-Round 11 after stitch 21 (half the total sts) to 44 sts.
-Round 12 after stitch 26 (5 more than last time) to 46 sts.
-Round 21 after stitch 23 (half the total sts) to 48 sts.
-Round 22 after stitch 28 (5 more than last time) to 50 sts.
-And then an extra set on:
-Round 31 after stitch 25 (half the total sts) to 52 sts.
-Round 32 after stitch 30 (5 more than last time) to 54 sts.

-Work even through Round 70

-Upper Band (Hook H):
-Round 71: Single Crochet
-Ribbing: 54 Rows
-Join inside out with sc, through both loops (instead of whip stitch as per pattern).

Finished Measurements:
Width Bottom: 5” (10” Circumference)
Width Top: 6.5” (13” Circumference)
Length: 17”
