Notes

So excited for this! I’ve been obsessed since the moment I laid eyes on it. It took me a long time to pick my colors, as the thing that I like the most about the colors of the model are how close they are to each other - how gradual the progression. The yarn used in the pattern is not readily available here in the States, so I was on a mission to find a super gradual progression of 10 colors, which isn’t really all that easy to come by, and it’s made even more difficult by trying to pick the colors online. I didn’t want to use a gradient cake, as I wanted to control the color changes as the pattern is written. I think I’m happy with what I picked. We shall see how they work up together…

Project Notes:
I love how the colors worked out! I’m so very happy with this blanket. I think it’s gorgeous!

And I’m very happy with the pattern as well. I was a little bummed at first that the video tutorial was only available with the paid version (I had downloaded the parts as they became available), but it turns out I really didn’t need it. The pattern was very clear and easy to follow.

The only modification I made was in Part 4, I did not cut the yarn as instructed after Round 29. The same color was used for the next round, and I didn’t see a reason to cut and re-attach in a different spot, so I simply chained up and began with the hdc into the next 5 (instead of with the trebles in the ch-1 space), because that was where the previous round ended.

And I have just one caveat:
In Part 8, on Short Row 5, watch out for the 2 (not 3) tr clusters! And the 3 (not 2) of them in the same space! I kind of got used to it being the other way around on previous rows, so that kind of threw me for a loop and I missed it at first.

I used the F Hook throughout, except switched to the G for round 46 as suggested.

Yarn Usage:
I followed colorway #1, which called for 260 yds each of 10 colors. I had 273 yds of each, which I figured would be enough, but I ended up needing more of 3 of the colors (#2, #6 & #8). This is how my usage broke out:

Color 1 Teal: 70.3 Grams/191.919 Yards/0.703 Skeins
Color 2 Bright Blue: 102.8 Grams/280.644 Yards/1.028 Sk
Color 3 Seaglass: 72.8 Grams/198.744 Yards/0.728 Sk
Color 4 Aqua: 74.4 Grams/203.112 Yards/0.744 Skeins
Color 5 Porcelain Blue: 77.5 Grams/211.575 Yards/0.775 Sk
Color 6 Sky: 104.2 Grams/284.466 Yards/1.042 Skeins
Color 7 Alaskan Blue: 86.5 Grams/236.145 Yards/0.865 Sk
Color 8 Lake: 105.9 Grams/289.107 Yards/1.059 Skeins
Color 9 Green Apple: 87.8 Grams/239.694 Yards/0.878 Sk
Color 10 Treetop: 96.8 Grams/264.264 Yards/0.968 Sk
