Such a pretty little blankie. I tried to keep this as a portable away from home project, which is why it took so long to complete, but it was actually pretty quick & easy. The hardest part was reminding myself of the pattern each time I picked it back up, so after about half way through, I ended up just finishing it. It was easier that way, to get in a rhythm with it.

I chose to skip the single crochet border on the sides, as it didn’t really seem to make much of a difference. I thought the edges looked pretty good as they were, so I decided to simply continue on until I ran out of yarn, which I did 2 stitches before the end of a row! Aargh!! What were the odds? There had been 2 knots in the skein, which had they not been there, I’m sure I would have had enough. But oh, well.

Instead of ripping back the whole row, what I ended up doing was to take some scrap white yarn to finish it off. All of the color changes in the yarn had been very abrupt, so this would be no different. I happened to have some old white Orlon Sayelle from Leewards, which had a very similar size & feel to it, so I used that. I ripped back one stitch though, so that I’d have at least those three stitches into which to weave the 2 ends of the new color. I think it worked out alright.
