Notes

This was definitely not a quick knit, but it was a very well written pattern with such a sweet result! It did feel like it took a long time, but it was actually quite enjoyable to work. I like meaty projects like this.

And it’s very squishy, too!

Particulars:
Crochet cast on with size 7/4.5 mm hook
Chiaogoo 32” US 7/4.5 mm needles for the body
Crochet border (detailed below) w/ size 7/4.5 mm hook

Slipped stitches knitwise, wyib

Top Triangles:
For the first one, I had to squeeze in the 14th stitch, but for all the others, there was extra room. I didn’t want a big hole, so for those, I picked up an extra stitch and then decreased it right away on the first row.

Border:
I decided that I would prefer a crochet ruffle border to the one in the pattern. I worked it similarly to the one I had done on Maisy’s Sweet Ribbons Blanket:

-All rounds from the right side (do not turn). This should encourage the ruffle, as turning the work would tend to flatten it.
-Round 1, Color A: Ch-1, sc evenly around the perimeter (I did 14 sts along each edge triangle), with 3 sc in ea corner. Join w/sl st to beg sc.
-Round 2, Color A: Ch-3, dc in same st, 2 dc in ea sc around, join w/sl st to top of beg ch-3.
-Round 3, Color B: Ch-3, dc in ea dc around, join w/sl st to top of beg ch-3.
-Round 4, Color A: Ch-3, dc in ea dc around, join w/sl st to top of beg ch-3.

Yarn Usage:
I bought yarn for the size large, as I was originally intending to make that size, but changed my mind & decided to make the size medium. Both sizes called for the same amount of yarn, so I should have had plenty, but I ended up needing an extra skein of each.
