This was another one of those lovely mandala style blankets that are so pleasurable to make. You just go round and round, with enough stitch variation to keep it interesting. You can use pretty much any yarn that you like, and can stop whenever it’s the size you want.

This was a very well written pattern and a joy to stitch. I made no mods except to use a magic ring to start, and left off the picots on the shell border.

Notes
Round 1: Don’t weave in the ends of round 1 before doing round 2, because that makes it difficult to execute the bphdc properly. The way I weave ends, I couldn’t get my hook in the right spot between the stitches. I ended up inserting my hook too high up on the stitches rather than truly around the post, and I got several rows in before I realized that I didn’t like how flat the center ridge circle looked. I ended up ripping it back and starting over.

Round 3: Work the clusters between the stitches rather than in the usual spot in the stitches, because otherwise there will be a bar under each cluster. There is no such bar in the pattern photos.

Round 18: Switche to hook I (5.5 mm) for this round only, then return to hook H on round 19.
