Notes

Fair isle cardigan worked after traditional methods, as described in Alice Starmore’s Book of Fair Isle Knitting

  • Colour scheme with two colours per row - pattern colour and background colour
  • Pattern and background colours change from row to row
  • Knitted in the round and cut open
  • Sleeves knitted from body to cuff
  • Under-arm gussets
  • Corrugated ribbing

Details:

  • Shoulders are grafted together instead of making a seam
  • Neck collar is fitted by decreasing in the “purl columns”
  • Neck collar and cuffs are lined with fleece
  • A patch inside the sleeve increases lifetime
