I have come across many interpretations of the box illusion for stranded colourwork and texture knitting, and sure there must also be charts for illusion knitting out there. I charted this one myself as an exercise to learn a bit about “the mechanics” of illusion knitting.

It took several iterations of charting and knitting. It was particularly challenging to get a decent shadow that mixes the two colours, while at the same time getting sharp edges of the box.

The yarn is held double, which gives a yardage of 187.5m/50g. 2.5mm needles is one size smaller than I would usually use for this yardage (as is the common advice for illusionknitting)
