This is a special request from my sister. I will knit her a cardigan and she makes me a crochet along throw for my bed.
This wool is lovely and it’s going to be a beautiful cardigan. I’m a tight knitter! My gauge is a little short on the rows, but my sister chose a larger size anyway so it should be fine.
The second last photo is the closest colour match. It also shows the mohair beautifully.

Because I want as little seaming as possible, I’m going to do a 3 needle bind off on the shoulders so I have placed these stitches on hold. I did a short row to give the shaping required. I used an 8mm needle to do the 3 needle bind off.
I bound off on the back as per the pattern, and I used a smaller needle to bind off where the pleat is, in the hope that it will help hold it in place.
I didn’t cast on for the top back section. Instead I picked up and knit the required number of stitches under the back bind off stitches, again in the hope it will help with stabilising the back. This meant that I started the pattern on the next purl row. I’m really happy with this as it looks very neat.
For the sleeves I’m casting on 31 stitches (XXL size) so they’re not too tight around the cuff, and then will increase until I have the correct number of stitches for the L size. Note: Just as well I did because they’re quite a firm fit around the wrist even so.
I also added 2 stitches to the front band because I’m a tight knitter and thought it needed the extra width.
And I made the arms 51cm before decreasing because the sleeves seemed a little short.
I love this pattern, and the cardigan is beautiful in this wool. I’m sure my sister will love it.
Now I just need to start my own.
