Notes

The pattern called for DK weight yarn, but I am a tight knitter and wanted a warmer hat- so I substituted worsted weight. This made the hat a bit larger than the pattern anticipated- but perfect for my husband.

I used a contrasting color for 1/2 of the rib section of the ribbed hem. Not only does this add visual interest but increased warmth (double thickness) at the ears.

I think it turned out great! Sheffield is a soft yarn with a bit of stiffness- so the texture really pops.
