Needles
Using two sizes smaller needle for hem because the alpaca is pretty thin. It still stretches to 24”.

Pattern Modifications

Double layer 1x1 twisted rib folded hem for cold weather:
-CO 96sts w 4mm needles
-K 1x1 twisted rib for 3.5”
-p 1 row (didn’t need to do this--would have looked nice without it)
-K another 3.5” of rib
-Fold hem up behind work and do a joining round in rib pattern.
-Change to size 5 needles and continue with body of hat section.

Slouchy length
-Add ~2” to length
-9” (head height) + 2” (ease) - 3.5” (hem) - 1.875” (decreases) = 5.625”
-Each repeat of the pattern (8 rounds) ~1” so 6 reps (8x6 rounds, looks like 6x6 because of the sl sts).
