Planned mods:

• Go down a needle size for lace top.
• Back seems to hang big so decrease by P3tog on every third decrease.
• To reduce back, also consider going down a needle size when binding off.
• But the pattern drawbacks don’t look that bad unless you’re super super busty or picky.

Mods made:

• I needed to use 3.75 mm needles to achieve gauge in St st, but then I forgot to go down a size for the G-st hem. The hem flips up, and hopefully blocking will fix that. Otherwise I guess I’ll sew the top row of bumps on WS to the row above it a bit???
• This pattern has positive ease and is a box, but I have a bust. I have a similar, drapey shirt I like that has some waist shaping and negative ease. So, I calculated the pattern based on zero ease according to the pattern gauge. I’ll block the shirt to the gauge, then fingers crossed it looks ok!

Fit

• Fits great, except it’s a little short in front by 2 inches. Plan to pick or cut out the garter hem and lengthen it if I have enough yarn.

• Since stockinette and knitting with wool in general is so stretchy, this probably would have fit fine without the shaping, even with a bust. If I didn’t make mods, I would go for a fitted bust size or one with a little negative ease. Planning to do this on my Plum Blossom top, even though it’s not wool.
