Okay, so I knitted the cuff and had my husband try it on. I asked him if it was long enough, and he said yes. We had discussed that he wanted it shorter than the original, so I wanted to make sure. I knitted the heel, had him try it on, and asked him if it still seemed right. He said yes. I had him try it on a few more places along the way. When I got ready to make the toe, I told him that I thought that was all I had left. He tried it on to make sure it would be a good length. He tried it on again before I grafted the toe together. I grafted it, and he put it on. His dad asked if the sock was really going to be that short.

“No, she’s still got to knit from here up.”

He thought that I knew he wanted the cuff much longer. So after some arguing, I frogged the entire thing and started over. I put up the pictures of what it looked like before the frogging.

Okay, first sock finished, and he’s happy with it. I knitted some, then had him try it on, and he told me to knit some more…several times. When he finally decided it was long enough, it was exactly the same length as the one in the picture, which he said was too long…

Oh, well. I shouldn’t complain about more knitting.

Finished! I panicked for a while because I needed about a foot more of my yarn to finish it. I had swatches, but I’d cut them apart to measure them. But just one row was enough, so it worked out.
