I finished the knitting today! Can’t wait to block it!

I had decided to make the large size to begin with, because I always end up making this kind of thing too small. When I got to the point on the border where there was a difference in the sizes, though, I decided it was already incredibly long, and a large would come out way too huge. I was nervous about it because I always seem to think that, and that’s why I make things too small, but this really seemed ridiculous.
Once I finished the border, it still looked like it was going to be gigantic, even though I had switched to the smaller size. When I got a good chunk of the body done, though, it suddenly looked like it was going to be too small. I was going to be furious with myself for talking myself out of the large size!
Now that it’s blocked, though, I think it’s a good size. I blocked it to 5 feet across and 2 feet from the center of the top to the tip. I love it! It would definitely be better in something softer than cotton, but I’m pretty happy with it, anyway.
Oh, and I actually separated the plies of the yarn to make this, so the yarn is really 1 ply, not 3. It’s extremely light and open this way!

I just weighed it. Can you believe it’s only 22 grams? Oh, and there are a couple of visible mistakes. I didn’t see them until after it was blocked, and honestly, I might rather knit an entire new one at this point than go back and fix them. One is just a single loose stitch, so hopefully it will even out over time. I’m not sure what the other one is. It may be a dropped stitch or something like that.
