My mom is a bank teller, and she often works at the drive-thru. I complained that there were a lot of cute fingerless glove patterns, but I didn’t have any use for them. She pointed out that they would be great for working at the drive-thru, so she can keep warm and still be able to count money. This is what she picked out, but I predict this won’t be her only pair.

Okay, this got put on hold for a few months, but I got a chance to have her try on the beginning of the first glove today, so I’ll get back to it.

Finished…I think. I’m debating putting an edging on the edge at the fingers. It stops short of the knuckles, and I think she’d rather have it a little longer.

When I began the pattern, it quickly became clear the pattern wasn’t going to work as written. I thought I had the correct gauge, but it kept coming out way too small, even after I went up a hook size. It was tight on me, and my mom’s hands are bigger than mine. They’re still a little tight, but she mom thinks it will be okay. Here’s what I ended up doing.

I chained 48 and joined. I worked 8 rounds straight in sc, then chained 16, skipped 4 stitches, and continued, so I ended up with 60 stitches. I worked straight until I had 40 total rounds. Then I decreased two stitches in each of the next 3 rounds, then worked straight for 7 rounds for a total of 50.
