New test knit for Samantha

I love a summer knit once in a while and I always find that Samantha’s patterns have a perfect fit.

I’m using black 85% cotton 15% alpaca blend from Illimani. I like the feel and the way it knits up, first time trying it.

I used German twisted cast on, it is my go to when a long tail cast on is needed.

I finished the first part of the back, ended up with 13 reps of rows 1-2 and 12 reps of rows 3-4, finishing with the row 2.

The lace pattern is easy to remember.

Finished the first part of the back, picked up the left shoulder’s stitches first.

So far, so good!

Finished the front, joined to knit in the round. Very easy going, taking my time.

I’m almost done with my first skein and have a few cm to do on the body before hem. I will probably put the body on hold and steam block before making neck and armholes bands, finishing the body afterwards.

I used my 2.5mm to do the
neckband, I didn’t have a 2.25mm at hands.

For the underarm bands, I only picked 131 sts instead of the 140 for my size in the pattern. It was enough.

Other than that, I followed the pattern exactly.

Final measurements:

A. Chest circumference: 34 inches
B. Body length from underarm: 14 inches
D. Armhole depth: 7.5 inches
