Super fun knit!

I questioned going down a needle size on the brim, glad I did. Got a suggestion on Instagram from ImaginedLandscape to knit through the back loop instead of going down a needle size with ribbing. I might try that next time if I’m too lazy to look for appropriate needles.

I added a few rounds before starting decreasing so that I would get to enjoy more of the gradient in the KnitCircus yarn. It also fits my head a bit better.

I LOVE the crown decrease. It’s severe since it decreases every round, and it creates some puffiness when it gathers. It’s really fun. The pompom is pretty much a requirement to help balance the crown of the hat.

I need to practice my fair isle some more. The gauge is definitely tighter than I expected. I can still wear the hat, but it’s a stretch (lol). I also need to practice trapping floats over long distances, like the tops of the trees. In some cases, the trapped teal can be seen through the white gradient. It looks like my floats are particularly loose when that’s happening, so that might be a clue to what’s going on.

All in all, WONDERFUL project. I want to knit it again.
